BERNARDINO JALANDONI MUSEUM

Jalandoni's family portrait

The house was owned by Don Bernardino Jalandoni. It was completely built in the year 1908. The design of the house was based on the typical Philippine nipa hut. The existing wooden structures are the same hardwood that was originally shipped from Mindoro. The embossed ceiling are imported from Hamburg, Germany. It was recognized as the first museum and heritage house in Silay city.

The furnitures in the ancestral house takes back the tourist to the Spanish era. It shows how prominent Filipino people lives before. Almost all  of the present furnitures we're from Germany, one of which is the grand piano. They believed that most prominent families had their houses built near the market and the church because it symbolizes how rich they are.
