The mansion was built in 1900's by sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma- Lacson for his wife Maria Braga. The structure of the mansion is of Italianate architecture enhanced by a balvedere complete with renaissance- type ballustrading typical homes of English ship captains. It was burned on World War II to prevent Japanese from using it. It was listed as among the World's 12 most fascinating ruins.
